About the life of Youssef Idris
Writer Youssef Idris was born on May 19, 1927 AD. His father worked in land reclamation, and therefore he was influenced by his father’s work, as he moved with him from place to place, and lived far from the city. Youssef Idris loved science and chemistry from a young age, and decided to study at the Faculty of Medicine. He was among the participants in the demonstrations that erupted against the British colonialists and the regime of King Farouk.

In 1951, Youssef Idris became the executive secretary of the students' defense committee, then he became the secretary of the students' committee, and through that he was able to publish revolutionary magazines, and as a result he was imprisoned and forced to drop out for several months, and during his studies in the Faculty of Medicine, his first attempt was to write the first story in His life, and this story was widely accepted and widely known among his student friends.

In 1951 AD, he worked in Al-Qasr Al-Ainy as a doctor until 1960 AD, and tried to work in psychiatry for a period, and worked as a journalist and editor in the Republic in 1960 AD, then as a writer for Al-Ahram newspaper in 1973 AD until 1982 AD. He married the Egyptian woman Rajaa Al-Rifai, and she bore him three children: Sameh Bahaa and Nesma died on August 1, 1991 AD, at the age of 64.
