The drawing
Drawing is one of the most prominent arts ever, as it is considered one of the plastic arts, which includes many forms such as sculpture, music, dance, acting, and many others.

Drawing can be defined as a language that man has used since ancient times, to express his needs for the requirements of life, so he expresses things by line, spots, or any other form using various tools, to produce things that carry aesthetic value.

Paper is one of the most important tools that the artist needs when drawing, as there are countless types of paper, for example the drawing paper that the artist uses for the pencil is not suitable for drawing on it with a feather, so drawing with a pencil needs a slightly smooth surface to be able to draw it on paper. The colors need strong paper with a rough surface, as the papers are divided into many types, including:

Canson paper is one of the most common types of paper among artists, as they use it to draw with pencil and charcoal of all kinds. It is characterized by its surface texture and is slightly rough compared to Bristol paper. It is also available in several colors, black and white, as it is used for preparatory drawing, still life drawing, in addition to drawing. Direct, whether it is a drawing from nature or a drawing of people.
Fabriano paper, it is Italian-made paper, characterized by a rough texture, as it is used to paint on it with watercolors, until it gives us the effect we want.

the pencils
The artist uses it in preliminary drawing and shading. It is available in several types with different degrees, as it is divided into three sections:
Gradient H, where we distinguish between them through the numbers on the pen, which start from the number H1 to the number H8, for example, H4 is lighter than H3, lighter than H2, and so on.
Grading B, and the pens are graded from B1 to B8, so B2 is lighter than B3, lighter than B4, and so on.
Charcoal pencils, of which there are two types:
Natural charcoal, characterized by its softness.
Industrial charcoal, and it is characterized by hardness.

Colors
It is available in many types, including:
Watercolors: They are water-based colors available in many shapes and colors, including powders, pastes, and dry tablets. These colors are transparent and can be mixed with water to reduce the intensity of the color. They can be used on paper, wood, and on the wall.
Oil colors: They are oil-based colors that are mixed with linseed oil when used, as they are colored on special pieces of cloth sold in bookstores called (Canvas).
Glass colors: colors with a non-aqueous basis, used on glass, polyester, and metals. They are characterized by their glossiness, quick drying in the air, and are light-resistant. They are found in the form of tubes.
